About This Role
Metrea Strategic Mobility, a defense contractor specializing in aerospace capabilities for national security, is recruiting experienced KC-135 Pilots in Command to lead high-tempo aerial refueling missions. This contract role offers flexible deployments ranging from short-term CONUS/OCONUS rotations to extended 45-90 day deployments in India supporting U.S. and allied forces. Candidates must have a minimum of 1000 total flight hours with 400 hours specifically in KC-135/C-135FR aircraft, current ATP certification, and a valid US/French passport. The position includes competitive daily rates with mission incentives, all travel and lodging covered, and the opportunity to work alongside elite crews on high-impact strategic operations.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Command flight crew while responding to emergency and non-emergency scenarios
- Conduct pre-flight, in-flight, and post-flight inspections, checklists, and documentation
- Maintain situational awareness and execute crew resource management throughout all flight phases
- Adhere to company Flight Operation Procedures (FOPs), Ground Operation Procedures (GOPs), FAA regulations, and Safety Notices
- Maintain all currencies, qualifications, and advanced systems knowledge related to KC/C-135 tanker fleet
- Operate KC-135 aircraft on aerial refueling missions

Requirements
- US citizen
- Current ATP or Restricted ATP license
- Minimum 1000 total flight hours
- Minimum 400 hours flight time in KC-135/C-135FR aircraft
- US Air Force Instrument/Qualification and KC/C-135 Aircraft Commander check-ride within 12 months
- Valid FAA Flying Class 2 Physical
- FCC Radiotelegraph Operators Permit
- B-707 Type rating required
- Current US or French passport with minimum 1 year validity at contract start
- Valid driver's license
- Fluent English language skills (oral and written)
- Ability to pass and maintain Secret or higher security clearance
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and iOS/iPad/EFB systems
- MPRS experience desired
- KC/C-135R IP/EP experience preferred
- MEI certificate preferred
- CFII certificate preferred
- Willingness to deploy on short notice
